Florida is home to 13 native bat species, all of which are protected by state law. Under Florida Administrative Code (Rule 68A-4.001 and 68A-9.010), the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) designates April 15 through August 14 as official bat maternity season.
During these four months:
